We are looking for a back-end developer in order to support the growth of our flagship product .

is a digital product that encompasses all Belgian addresses and buildings with a multitude of linked data properties and gives an elaborate description of characteristics and activities at any given location. Through Belmap, retailers can for instance understand where their customers live, work and shop. Utility network operators can optimize their network planning, design, roll-out and operations and distribution companies can optimize their address management and logistics. Belmap thus enables better decision-making based on clear location insights. The objective is to evolve the product into a complete and highly detailed digital twin of the build-up territory.

As Back-end Developer I am a crucial part of GIM’s product team where I help to build and extend Belmap, our geodata flagship product. My precise nature combined with our well organized and described processes and procedures, help me to navigate this complex product with a focus on quality and stability. Querying back-end systems and developing data pipelines are no strangers to me but rather a key aspect in my work as back-end engineer. My expertise with relational databases, SQL, Python and FastAPI is a prerequisite to start successfully in my role. I collaborate with data scientists to build and optimize these data pipelines and improve the data accuracy of the Belmap product. The use of version control and CI/CD systems ensure a successful collaboration and accelerates the deployment process.

My knowledge about GIS (QGIS), Spatial Data and ETL is nice to have, though probably not a prerequisite to start successfully in my role. However, my interest for the Geo-ICT domain helps me to understand the underlying business context of our product and the enormous amount of possibilities it provides.

My communicative nature and a solution-oriented and positive mindset are important attributes as they help me to successfully collaborate within the Belmap product team. Our team meetings and feedback moments are the ideal opportunity for me to propose or participate to actions that will further strengthen our collaboration and improve the quality of our processes.

• Informaticacomponenten selecteren, assembleren en integreren (programma's, databanken, specifieke ontwikkelingen, ...)
• Programmeren in een specifieke computertaal
• De productie van softwareoplossingen realiseren in een omgeving (servers, werkposten, besturingssystemen, ...)
• Technische en functionele problemen analyseren
  Corrigerende acties, technische aanpassingen, ... voorstellen
• Behoeften van de klant of gebruiker analyseren
  Het functioneel lastenboek opstellen (specificaties, termijnen, kosten, ...)
• De technische, economische, … informatie en de reglementering opvolgen en actualiseren
• Een ontwikkeld product presenteren
  Gebruikers opleiden over de geleverde informaticatoepassingen
• Een applicatie ontwikkelen die aan een databank gelinkt is
• Fasen en procedures van de technische en functionele tests van informaticaprogramma's en -applicaties bepalen en uitvoeren (planning, validatie, ...)
